Profile

Mr. Lian is an attorney-at-law and trademark attorney in our Beijing office, specializing in trademark, copyright, unfair-competition, internet, domain name and litigation. He is experienced in all aspects of trademark law and practice and deals with contentious and non-contentious matters including clearance searches and advice, filing and prosecution of trademarks as well as oppositions, appeals, cancellations, licensing, anti-counterfeiting and other trademark matters.

He started his legal practice in 1983 with China Global Law Office, specializing in international trade and investment. 1985-1996 he worked with CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office, specializing in trademark matters, during which period he worked for four years in CCPIT's office in Canada. Prior to joining Hao Tian Law Office (now merged as Hylands) as partner in 2001, he was a partner and co-founder of C&M Law Office. He also has working experience in a foreign law firm of strong IP practice.

Since 1985 he has been practicing in the field of intellectual property law, focusing on trademark, copyright, unfair competition, domain names and IP litigation. His achievements in anti-counterfeiting are recognized by the owners of some of the world's most well-known trademarks. He has been practiced in the area of anti-counterfeiting for 12 years with extensive experience, which covers the protection of many world's most well-known trademarks. He frequently gives presentation on anti-counterfeiting in international conferences and internal seminars of leading law firms in other countries.

He was invited in revising the China Trademark Law and its implementing regulations. He writes extensively in national and international publications on intellectual property. His articles in international IP publications:

He is a committee member of Anti-counterfeiting Committee of INTA, team member of MARQUES, panelist of CIETAC Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center and member of Beijing Lawyers Association.
