Profile

Mr. Ma is an attorney-at-law in our Beijing office. He is one of the founding partners of Hao Tian Law Office (now merged as Hylands). He has more than twelve years of extensive experience in practicing intellectual property laws.

He had served for more than ten years in government authority. He participated in drafting the Copyright Law of China and the other laws and regulations related to intellectual property. Mr. Ma was in numerous copyright negotiations with foreign counterparts and attended many international legal conferences related to intellectual property.

He has established his own reputation in IP area and he is one of the best IP attorneys in China. He has published extensively in the leading law journals. As a well-known expert in IP, he has spoken at international symposiums, and lectured at training programs sponsored by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Chinese government.

He is currently acting as an arbitrator for the Beijing Arbitration Committee, part-time professor of China University of Political Science and Law, director of China Copyright Association, deputy director of China Franchise Committee of Chain Store and Franchise Association, supervisor of Beijing Bar Association, member of editing Commission of China Copyright. For his achievements, he has been honored as one of the Ten Best Lawyers of Beijing and selected in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 by Asia Law as Leading Asian lawyer in IP area.
